ETEC Course
Introduction to Oilfield Explosives Safety
This course is intended for everyone in the oil industry who may come in contact or who will be in the near vicinity of explosives at the well site; from the operating company engineer or rig foreman to the experienced service company explosive user. Successful completion of the course does not certify that an individual is ready for the shooting compartment, but it does lay the groundwork and is a critical introduction. This course covers the basic types of explosives used in the oil industry, the characteristics and behavior of those explosives, and a discussion of the various explosive tools and their associated hazards. This course is based on the API RP-67 (Recommended Practices for Oilfield Explosive Safety). Attendees will receive a reference manual and a certificate of course completion.
There are currently no classes scheduled for this course. Please check back at a later time or contact WDCE to see when the course will be offered again.
