Smart Energy Use
Classroom Lighting
Lights are a primary source of energy consumption on campus. Purchasing more energy-efficient lighting units and systems is one place to start. However, a more immediate and effective way to curb consumption is for all of us to make a habit of turning off any lights that are not needed.

Did you know?
A classroom with 10 fluorescent light panels or 10 incandescent lights uses about 3000 watts per hour.
What You Can Do
When leaving a classroom, turn off the lights. When using a classroom, use only the lighting needed.
