Emergency Evacuation from Offices and Classrooms
Since elevators must not be used during fire emergencies, persons unable to maneuver the stairs safely should go to the nearest stairwell that is marked Area of Rescue Assistance. College personnel and/or rescue personnel will check the stairwells for persons needing assistance and contact Campus Police for assistance in evacuating those persons from the building.
If you have mobility impairment, it is suggested that you familiarize yourself with the Areas of Rescue Assistance locations in each campus building.
