Bookstore Assistance

This accommodation is provided, in conjunction with the College Store, for eligible students with a documented physical disability and/or mobility impairment.

Procedure for assistance

It is the responsibility of students with physical disabilities and/or mobility impairments to:

  1. Give a copy of your class schedule to the Disability Services Office. Remember to keep a copy for yourself!
    • Cross out any class for which you have already purchased a textbook or you will pay for the book and be required to wait one week before being allowed to return the book for a refund.
    • The College Store will only select new and required textbooks for each course. NOTE: Optional books (e.g., study guides, notebooks, etc.) and used textbooks (not always available and vary in condition) must be purchased by you through the regular College Store lines.
  2. Pick up your textbooks at the Customer Service Desk in the College Store the day after Disability Services receives a copy of your class schedule.
    • Pick up is available after 1 p.m. No exceptions!
    • The College Store cannot control the number of students picking up books through Bookstore Assistance; therefore, you may have to wait in line for a few minutes before being served.
    • Books will be held at the Customer Service Desk for one week, then will be placed back on the shelves.
  3. Keep your textbook purchase receipts and do not write or mark your books in any way if you want to return any of them for a full refund. (If you write in a new textbook or mark it in any way, the book will be considered used and a full refund will not be given.)
  4. If more textbooks are needed, Bookstore Assistance may be used again by repeating the above steps.
