Adaptive Equipment

Disability Services offers a limited amount of adaptive equipment that can be borrowed each semester. Loans are made on a "first-come, first-served" basis. One-on-one training is available for most of the adaptive equipment.

Available Adaptive Equipment

  • 2-track tape recorders
  • Digital Talking Book Players
  • 4-function calculators
  • Spell checkers
  • Ergonomic keyboards
  • Assistive Technology Laptops
  • Roller ball mouse
  • Special chairs

Procedures for Borrowing Adaptive Equipment

  1. Contact Disability Services at the beginning of each semester to determine if documentation supports the use of adaptive equipment.
  2. Request to borrow the needed adaptive equipment. Students must supply their own batteries or cassette tapes.
  3. Fill out a Disability Services Equipment form (local address and local phone number are required).
  4. Return the equipment in good condition (e.g., operates as intended, manuals and cables included) at the end of each semester or risk having a "hold" placed on grades or transcripts.
