Sexually Transmitted Disease Testing
College Health Services offers low-cost and confidential STD testing to current Penn College students and employees.
Who Should Get Tested?
It doesn’t matter who you are – your age, sexual preference or number of partners – STD testing may help you deal instantly with a disease that could have severe long-term effects on your health.
If you ever had unprotected sex, oral sex, or even intimate sexual contact in the past, there is a risk that you may have a sexually transmitted disease.
With the cautious atmosphere fostered by AIDS now faded, and modern sexual habits including more partners, higher levels of concurrent relationships, and people starting to have sex at a younger age, STD infections have sky-rocketed.
STD Testing Schedule
Testing will take place in the College Health Services office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. There is a $12.50 fee for this service, and appointments are required. Schedule your appointment today by clicking the myHEALTH ONLINE icon on the myPCT portal home page.
STD Results
Students will be contacted for POSITIVE STD results only. Results will be available approximately 2-3 days after the testing date.
HIV Testing
Knowing your HIV status is an important part of being sexually responsible. Anyone (regardless of age, gender, race & sexual orientation) who has ever had unprotected sex, or used/shared needles for injecting drugs has put themselves at risk for HIV & all Sexually Transmitted Infections.
AIDS Resource Alliance now offers free confidential testing for HIV through College Health Services using the Orasure Oral Swab system making the test needle and pain free! Testing is done independently and anonymously by a staff member from AIDS Resource on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month from 1-4 p.m. Contact College Health Services to schedule a testing appointment by calling 570-320-5234 or via e-mail to collegehealth@pct.edu.
HIV Results
It takes approximately 2 weeks for AIDS Resource to receive HIV test results. You will have to return to the College Health Services office to get your test results; results cannot be given out over the phone.
