Seasonal Flu Vaccine
Current Penn College students, staff, faculty, and retirees are eligible for the flu vaccine through College Health Services.
Our goal in College Health Services is to get the flu vaccine to as many people as possible who are at risk of suffering serious complications from the virus which includes all Individuals 9 years and up; but especially all:
- Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than six months;
- Pregnant women;
- Health care providers and emergency medical services personnel; and
- Individuals 9 years and up with underlying health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, suppressed immune systems, heart disease, kidney disease, and neurocognitive and neuromuscular disorders.
The only medical reason why someone should not receive the flu vaccine is an allergy to eggs, neomycin, or polymixin, or having had a previous life-threatening reaction to an influenza vaccine.
