Airway Management and Assessment for the EMT-P
Introductory study of emergency medical services and advanced study related to airway management and patient assessment. Discussion includes the importance of the wellness of the EMT: EMT roles and responsibilities; injury prevention; legalities and ethics; and decision making. Topics related to patient assessment surrounding trauma and medical emergencies include therapeutic communications, life span development, history taking, physical examination, scene assessment, and ongoing reassessments. Study includes pre-hospital communications and documentation in relation to the expectations of EMT-P performance. 4 Credits (3 Lecture - 3 Lab) Prerequisite(s): ENL111 and MTH011 and PMP103 or ENL111 and MTH124 and PMP103 or ENL111 and MTH011 and PMP122 or ENL111 and MTH124 and PMP122 or ENL111 and MTH180 and PMP103 or ENL111 and MTH180 and PMP122.
