The Role of the Health Care Provider Related to Death and Dying
Exploration of the role of the nurse and other health care professionals in the provision of care for the dying patient. Discussion allows for examination of personal feelings, as well as the professional, spiritual and ethical issues surrounding the care of the dying patient and his/her family. Palliative care choices are analyzed from a multidisciplinary perspective. The course provides insight into the implications for nursing and health care practice of how different cultures view and experience death and dying. 1 Credit (1 Lecture - 0 Lab) Scheduled by Special Arrangement.
