Introduction to Practical Nursing Concepts
An orientation to the Practical Nursing Program including its philosophy and objectives. The role and responsibilities of the student Practical Nurse are introduced. Physical, social, emotional and psychological needs, and developmental characteristics are studied across the age span from birth to death. Client needs, health concepts, and early foundational knowledge of the body systems are explored. The process of developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans is introduced. In addition, math for pharmacology is introduced, along with the study of drug preparation and administration. 7 Credits (4 Lecture - 9 Lab) Prerequisite(s): NUR153. Corequisite(s): BIO115 and ENL111. Fall-Second 8 Weeks.
