CAT Vehicle Machine Electronics and Diagnostic Procedures

Introduction to CAT machine electronics and monitoring systems, including the theoretical and practical operations of each system. Topics include component and symbols identification, wiring diagrams and schematics, CAT Vital Information Management System (VIMS), CAT Electronic Technician (ET) and Computer Monitoring System (CMS), along with an overview of the automatic retarder control and electronic traction aids systems. Measuring instruments and tools, both hand and machine are used for diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures. (Formerly DSM282) 3 Credits (2 Lecture - 3 Lab) Prerequisite(s): DSM119 and DSM120 and DSM160 and DSM281. Spring Only.
