Origin, Distribution and Behavior of Soils
Geological origin of soils; minerals, rocks, rock structure, weathering, glaciation, erosion, and deposition. Distribution of soils in North America; residual, glacial and water-wind deposited soils. Soil characteristics and behavior, engineering classification, volume-weight relationships, physical properties, stresses within soil masses. 3 Credits (2 Lecture - 3 Lab)
Prerequisite(s): ENL111 and MTH180 or ENL111 and MTH240. Corequisite(s): PHS115 or PHS201. (Writing Enriched) Fall Only.
