BCT251

Introduction to planning and implementing a residential remodeling project. Emphasis on development of a professional contract through the preparation of drawings, specifications, schedule, and estimates for a typical residential remodeling project. Additional remodeling-related topics include customer relations, insurance, bonding, liens, and sales and marketing. IRC requirements relating to planning, foundations, framing, energy conservation, and radon control are studied. Hazardous substances in the remodeling industry, sustainability issues, and code inspection sequences are discussed. 4 Credits (2 Lecture - 6 Lab) Prerequisite(s): BCT102 and BCT103 and BCT109 or BCT102 and BCT103 and BCT128 or BCT103 and BCT104 and BCT109 or BCT103 and BCT104 and BCT128.
