Automotive Dynamometer and Performance Parts Testing II
Advanced principles and techniques of bolt-on aftermarket performance parts and evaluation with the use of a chassis dynamometer. Topics include camshaft installation and induction testing; cylinder head tests of different flow characteristics as a result of porting, camshaft selection, or combustion chamber volume; forced induction with main focus on turbo-charging; drive train modifications necessary to handle the increased engine performance; and drive train modifications, limited to flywheel, pressure plate, clutch material, or torque converter stall/flash performance. 3 Credits (1.50 Lecture - 4.50 Lab) Prerequisite(s): AMT111 and AMT119 and AMT278. Corequisite(s): AMT265 and AMT266. Spring Only.
