Introduction to Cultural Anthropology

Introduction to the holistic study of culture. Focusing on the work of ethnographers and other cultural anthropologists and beginning with a firm base in anthropological theory, the course builds a comprehensive and cross-cultural appreciation of multiple related topical areas. These include the definition and evolution of culture, language, food production, human reproduction and sexuality, economic organization, domestic life, kinship and descent, political life, social class and caste organization, culture and personality, religion, art, globalization, and applied cultural anthropology. 3 Credits (3 Lecture - 0 Lab) Prerequisite(s): ENL111.
