The Role of the Health Care Provider Related to Death and Dying
The course explores the role of the nurse and other health care professionals in the provision of care for the dying patient. The student will be provided an opportunity to explore personal feelings, as well as the professional, spiritual and ethical issues surrounding the care of the dying patient and his/her family. Palliative care choices will be analyzed from a multidisciplinary perspective. The course will also give the student insight into the implications for nursing and health care practice of how different cultures view and experience death and dying. 1 Credit (1 Lecture - 0 Lab)
