Theory and applied learning allows students to give care to clients exhibiting psychosocial health problems. Students develop skills in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of the client with psychosocial needs. Communication skills are applied to establish a therapeutic nurse-client relationship. Emphasis on identifying the client's coping responses and maximizing strengths to promote adaptation. 3 Credits (2 Lecture - 3 Lab) Prerequisite(s): BIO125 and NUR181 and PSY203 or BIO125 and NUR117 and NUR223 and PSY203 or BIO125 and NUR126 and PSY203. Corequisite(s): NUR280 and NUR281 and NUR283.
