Survey of the major provisions of the U.S. Constitution and the amendments that have been adopted. Case studies are used to analyze the role of the courts in interpreting the constitution. Discussion includes the meaning of federalism, how the doctrine of separation of powers functions, the growth and development of the national powers of the federal government, and the role of the courts in serving as the guardian of the constitutional rights and liberties of the individual citizen. 3 Credits (3 Lecture - 0 Lab) Fall Only.
