Identification and analysis of drug usage and chemical dependency from a historic, medical and psychological perspective. Topical issues explored include the medical model of dependence, generic diagnosis, impact of the disease on family, treatment models, outcomes research, and systemic service processes. Non-Human Services majors may take the course with permission of the instructor. 3 Credits (3 Lecture - 0 Lab) Prerequisite(s): HSR115. As needed.
