Human Services Internship I
Supervised field work experience in a human service agency, enabling students to work with professionals, study the agency in which they want to work, and relate theory to practice. Participation requirements: 250 on-site or direct-contact hours and 16 hours of seminar meetings. The following criteria must be met to schedule this course: 1) complete prerequisite HSR course work with at least a 2.5 cumulative average; 2) complete PSY and ENL prerequisite course work with a grade of 'C' or better in each course; 3) complete FIT prerequisite course work with a grade of 'C' or better or submit properly endorsed documentation of successful completion of American Red Cross training in Standard First Aid and a current card validating successful completion of B.C.L.S./C.P.R. curriculum; and 4) depending on work site requirements, completion of standard basic health appraisal form and receipt of Children's Services Protection Act 33 clearance may be necessary. 3 Credits (1 Lecture - 10 Internship) Prerequisite(s): ENL111 and ENL121 and FIT204 and HSR115 and HSR120 and HSR210 and PSY201 or ENL111 and ENL121 and FIT204 and HSR115 and HSR120 and HSR210 and PSY203 or ENL111 and ENL121 and FIT204 and HSR115 and HSR120 and HSR210 and PSY210.
