Introduction to the theory and application of the design and development of industrial products and systems. Development of awareness of the many cultural, physical, and historically based variables that impact the finished product. Emphasis on the design process and problem solving. Work in teams to design simple tools and products. Stressed is bringing a competitive product to market through the use of concurrent engineering for simultaneous product/process design. Parametric solids modeling software is used to develop basic designs and create production drawings. (Formerly DSG321 & DSG322) 3 Credits (2 Lecture - 3 Lab) Prerequisite(s): CAD238 and CCD243.
