Design for Manufacturability
Introduction to the theory and application of the design and development of industrial products and manufacturing systems. Emphasis on related product history, the design process, problem solving to design for manufacturability, product assembly, and maintenance. Students work individually or in teams to design simple tools and products. Also covered is bringing competitive product to market through the use of concurrent engineering for simultaneous product/process design. Advanced techniques in parametric solids modeling software are used to develop designs and to analyze and solve engineering problems. 3 Credits (2 Lecture - 3 Lab) Prerequisite(s): CCD245 or CAD238 and CCD243.
