Chemistry and Society
A basic introduction to chemistry in the "everyday world," with emphasis on the role that chemistry plays in personal and professional lives. The course enables students to use concepts of chemistry to think critically about current issues in science and technology. Basic chemical concepts presented include: metric measurement, chemical elements and atoms, chemical bonds and molecules, types of chemical reaction, radioactive substances and radiation, and states of matter. No background in Chemistry or other Natural Sciences is presumed. 3 Credits (3 Lecture - 0 Lab)
Prerequisite(s): ENL111 and MTH005 or ENL111 and Placement by Examination. (Science, Technology and Society)
