Study of microwave pulse systems used on board aircraft, focusing on flight line testing of distance measuring equipment (DME), air traffic control transponders, airborne weather radar, and radar altimeters. Exploration of tactical navigation, passive weather detection, and collision avoidance systems, and the role these systems play in the Federal Aviation Administration's reduced vertical separation minimums and terrain awareness systems. 3 Credits (3 Lecture - 0 Lab) Prerequisite(s): AVC311 or AVI230 and AVI335.
