Academic Overload
An academic or credit overload occurs when a student registers for more than 18 credits per semester (does not apply to students enrolled in majors that require a 19-credit load). Students taking classes in the summer (May through August) are limited to 18 credits for that period.
Students wishing to schedule an overload must obtain permission from the assistant dean or dean of the major in which they are enrolled. A returning student must have earned a 3.0 graduation grade-point average or a 3.0 average the previous semester in order to qualify to schedule a credit overload.
