New Choices/New Options Career Development Services are available to eligible Penn College students and those considering attending college.
Considering college? Attending this program can be very helpful.
You must attend a minimum of 100 hours to meet grant funding requirements.

New Choices/New Options
This program offers single parents, displaced homemakers and under employed individuals the opportunity to build the self-confidence needed to cope with life and face new responsibilities. Participants also explore the benefits of entering ‘non-traditional by gender’ * programs of study at Penn College.
During the four-week program, participants assess their interests, values, and abilities in order to make career decisions and set goals for their future. The program also offers basic computer skills training, job search assistance, and help in understanding the local labor market – in order to assist participants in finding employment or continuing their education.

- Job search strategies
- Interviewing skills
- Job shadowing opportunities
- Apprenticeships (when available)
- Personal Enrichment
Limited financial assistance for college/vocational training and employability training is available to program completers who meet eligibility requirements.
* ‘Non-traditional by gender’ programs have enrollments at
Penn College that are greater than 75% of one sex. New Choices/New Options offers support for individuals interested
in entering nontraditional fields.
