As an engineer for our companies responsibilities would include: Providing technical engineering information to company supervision and crafts to insure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design; Performing cost/estimating assignments, which require application of control principles and technical knowledge of a construction project; and Providing financial and administrative services necessary to ensure successful, timely, and profitable project completion. For co-op & intern positions, students are employed in our estimating department, at construction project sites, and at our construction management project sites. While employed in our estimating department the interns assist our senior estimators in quantity takeoff, subcontractor & supplier contact, project evaluation, setting up estimates using our estimating software, and maintenance of our subcontractor and supplier database. While assigned to a construction project site, the interns assist the project engineer and superintendent in keeping track of the daily work for our cost control system, project documentation, performing quantity takeoff for planning, helping to prepare monthly pay estimates, and scheduling and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers. On a construction management project the interns perform construction inspection and documentation under the direction of a senior inspector or engineer. Our main office is located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania just outside of Pittsburgh. We also maintain offices in Charleston, WV and Reston, VA. Our companies perform work in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia.
