Counseling Services – Career Exploration
Interested Penn College students are assisted in career decision making through Counseling and Career Services. Students are able to talk with counselors concerning a wide range of career options.
Counselors have resources such as The Career Assessment Inventory, a practical and "user friendly" survey of interests that is locally machine scored for immediate feedback. The American College Testing "Discover" computer-based system for career choice is available also and gives the student an opportunity to "self-explore" careers and other personal information. Counselors are available to assist students with the use of Discover and with the entire career decision-making process.
Students are encouraged to make use of additional resources in the Career Resource Room, including, books and periodicals, college catalogues, on-line career information, job posting notebooks (by major), and career-related magazines.
To schedule an appointment to discuss your career path, contact a counselor or the director of Counseling, Career & Disability Services.
