U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championships - Long Beach, CA. (A)

Over 300 archers attended the four-day tournamentLONG BEACH, Calif. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team competed this past weekend at the U.S. Collegiate Archery Championships in Long Beach. The Wildcats placed fourth nationally and had four archers, senior Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) and juniors Kendel Baier (Jersey Shore), Matthew Cummings (Mountville) and Nicole Lapinski (Bloomsburg), earn All-American status. The men’s compound team of juniors Justus Leimbach (Westminster, Md.) and Cummings, sophomore Markus Weber (La Plata, Md.) and freshman Cody Wolfe (Tioga) took a bronze medal in the team competition. Dewalt was the top individual finisher for the Wildcats taking fifth in the men’s bowhunter competition. He and his teammates, freshmen Christopher Lafey (Weatherly), Robert Heinrich (Muncy Valley) and Matthew Lech (Johnstown) just missed a medal in the team competition taking fourth.

Justus Leimbach took first with partner Nicole Lapinski in the mixed compound competitionSTORRS, Conn. – Junior Kendel Baier (Jersey Shore) won the women’s bowhunter competition and freshman Cody Wolfe (Tioga) did the same for the men’s compound as the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team competed at the Eastern Regional Intercollegiate Archery Championships in Storrs, Conn. this past weekend. The Wildcat won seven events at the two-day tournament on the campus of the University of Connecticut. Baier also won the mixed bowhunter event with senior partner Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) and Wolfe led the men’s compound team of sophomores Matthew Cummings (Mountville) and Markus Weber (La Plata, Md.) to a gold medal.

Kelvin Dewalt and Kendel Baier took first in the mixed bowhunter competitionHARRISONBURG, Va. – With a total of seven first place finishes, the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team opened its outdoor season with a strong showing at James Madison University’s Adam Wheatcroft Memorial Tournament this past weekend. Taking gold in the individual competitions was senior Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) for men’s bowhunter, junior Kendel Baier (Jersey Shore) for women’s bowhunter and freshman Cody Wolfe (Tioga) for men’s compound. The Wildcats also topped the field in the team competition for men’s compound and women’s bowhunter. Dewalt and Baier paired up to win the mixed bowhunter competition as did juniors Justus Leimbach (Westminster, Md.) and Nicole Lapinski (Bloomsburg) for mixed compound.

The tournament was held at the Lancaster Archery Supply indoor facilityLANCASTER, Pa. – With over 95 archers in attendance, the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team had a strong showing at the US National Indoor Championship - East Regional this past weekend. Junior Kendel Baier (Jersey Shore) took first in the women’s bowhunter competition while senior Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) did the same on the men’s side. All archers will wait to see where they rank nationally as their scores will be combined with other regionals held across the nation.
