NCWA National Championships-Mercer University Day Two (A)

MACON, Ga. – Sophomore Tyler Myers’ (Centre Hall) tournament run came to an end on Friday. Myers’ lost to Max Barsky of West Chester University 9-3 in the fourth round of the 157lb consolation bracket. As a team, Penn College finished 26th out of 35 teams in attendance.

MACON, Ga. – Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) and freshman Derek Anderson (Ellsworth) competed in day one of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Championships in Macon, Ga. Myers went 3-1 on the day and is still alive in the consolation bracket while Anderson had a tough draw and went 0-2.

EASTON, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team exceeded the expectations of many Saturday afternoon as sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) and freshman Derek Anderson (Ellsworth) earned their first trip to the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) national tournament by qualifying at the regional tournament Saturday. Penn College sent six wrestlers to the NCWA Mid-East Conference Tournament in Easton, Pa. on the campus of Lafayette College and had four place in the top six in their respective weight classes.

MEDIA, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team competed in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association’s Pennsylvania State Championships Saturday. Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) placed second, losing in a 12-8 decision, in the 157 class as two other Wildcat wrestlers placed in the event.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Sophomore Tyler Myers (Centre Hall) defeated Lock Haven's Dalton Cunningham in a 7-4 decision for the 157 class. The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team competed in three preliminary bouts against Lock Haven. The win is Myers’ third on the season.
USCAA Individual Tournament-PSU DuBois (A)

DUBOIS, Pa. – In day two of the USCAA Championships at Penn State – DuBois, the Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team took home some hardware with three Wildcat wrestlers earning accolades. Following Friday’s dual meet competition, Saturday’s events focused on individual wrestlers.

DUBOIS, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team competed in its first dual meets at the USCAA Invitational in DuBois Friday. The Wildcats faced off against conference rival Penn State DuBois and capped off the evening with top team The Apprentice School.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – In what was a very short slate of preliminary wrestling action Thursday night, the Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team garnered its first individual bout victory in school history. With Lycoming College suffering a rash of injuries that required moving many of their junior varsity wrestlers up to starting positions, Penn College was reduced to two bouts Thursday night.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestling team competed in its first intercollegiate bout Sunday afternoon against Bucknell University. The Wildcats competed in six preliminary bouts against selected junior varsity members of the Bison squad. As a team, Bucknell won 28-0.
Penn College 'Wrestling Day' Successful

On Sunday, Jan. 16, Penn College kicked off the return of wrestling with a full day of related activities. The Wildcats' "Wrestling Day" included a clinic with guest clinician Mark McKnight, a Pennsylvania State University resident athlete, followed by an intrasquad meet. The event culminated with an evening banquet held in the Thompson Professional Development Center's Mountain Laurel Room and featuring guest speaker and four-time National Collegiate Athletic Association champion Cael Sanderson, head wrestling coach at Penn State.
