CANTON, N.Y. – On the second day of group play at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Volleyball Championships, the Pennsylvania College of Technology lost its final two games, dropping the team out of contention for the title. The Wildcats lost 2-0 to both Carlow University and host SUNY-Canton. “We made some mental mistakes and didn’t correct them,” said head coach Bambi Hawkins. “There were some sparks that looked to change the momentum, but the team just couldn’t put it together.”

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team lost both of its opening round matches on day one of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Volleyball Championships. The Wildcats played two of their four group play matches on the opening day.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With the help of 10 kills and 10 digs from sophomore Courtney Gernert, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team defeated Penn State Brandywine 3-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference semifinals Sunday. The Wildcats played strong defense totaling 63 digs with sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) leading all players with 16. The win sends the team to the championship match against Penn State Fayette, a repeat of last year’s final.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) recorded 17 kills to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Penn State Mont Alto in the Penn State University Athletic Conference quarterfinals. Sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) added 11 kills to the mix. The win improves the Wildcats to 22-7 overall and 16-1 in conference.

SCRANTON, Pa. – With the help of four kills and five blocks from sophomore Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team swept Penn State Hazleton 3-0 Sunday. The win was the final regular season match for the team that improve to 21-7 overall and 15-1 in the Penn State University Conference. It also guarantees a second seed in the PSUAC Playoffs.

Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) and sophomore Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) each had seven kills to lead the team. Also for the Wildcats, sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) had 16 digs. The win improves the team to 20-7 overall and 14-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

ELMIRA, N.Y. - Despite seven kills from sophomore Melissa Lake (Winburne), the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team lost 3-0 to Elmira College Wednesday night. Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) notched 15 digs and sophomore Kelly Hebert added six blocks. With the loss, the Wildcats drop to 19-7 overall.

UNIONTOWN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team split at a Penn State University Athletic Conference quad match Sunday at Penn State Fayette. The Wildcats defeated Penn State New Kensington 3-0, but were swept 3-0 by the host. The loss is the first in conference for the team and with the split are now 19-6 overall and 13-1 in the PSUAC.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) totaled 22 kills as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team won both its game at the Penn State Beaver quad match. The Wildcats swept both their games 3-0 against the host and Penn State Greater Allegheny. Also with a strong day was sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) with 44 assists. The wins improve Penn College to 18-5 overall and 12-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) had 14 kills and 10 digs to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep against Penn State Harrisburg. The Wildcats won 25-12, 25-11, 26-24 improving their overall record to 16-5. Sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) led all players with 25 assists while freshman Gabrielle George (Morton) did the same in digs with 11.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) was unstoppable on the service line notching 11 aces in the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team 3-0 win against Penn State Scranton. With the scores 25-6, 25-7, 25-7, the Wildcats were on both offensively and defensively not allowing Scranton a chance to get into any sets. Sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led with 10 kills while sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) totaled 19 assists. The win improves the team to 15-5 overall and 10-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

HAZLETON, Pa. – With the help of 18 kills and 27 digs from sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra), the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team defeated both Penn State York and Penn State Mont Alto 3-0 in a conference quad match hosted by Penn State Hazleton. Senior Tara Powell was also a defensive standout notching 33 digs between the two matches. With the wins the Wildcats improve their win streak to seven and raise their overall record to 14-5 and conference record to 9-0.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Morgan Moberg (Huntingdon) notched 31 assists to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team take two wins in a Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) quad match it hosted Saturday. The Wildcats won 3-0 against Penn State Schuylkill and then later defeat Penn State Brandywine 3-0. The wins improve the team to 12-5 overall and 7-0 in the PSUAC.

SCRANTON, Pa. - Sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) totaled 20 kills and sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) had 22 assists to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Lackawanna College. The Wildcats won the first two games 25-13, 27-25 before dropping set three 29-27. After regrouping, they played a strong fourth winning 25-13. Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) added 20 digs and four aces in the victory that improves the team to 10-5 overall.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – In front of a packed Bardo Gymnasium, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team put out a dominant performance sweeping Penn State Wilkes Barre 3-0. The Wildcats put on a show at the service line with 17 aces. Freshman Gabrielle George (Morton) led with six aces and added 6 digs to the mix. Penn College now improves to 9-5 overall and 5-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team took third place at the Lycoming College Volleyball Classic Saturday. The Wildcats finished up round robin play with a 3-1 loss to Misericordia University but bounced back to a 3-1 win against The City College of New York in the third place match. Sophomore Kelly Hebert was named to the all-tournament team. Hebert was strong defensively for the Wildcats racking up 10 blocks in the two matches. The split gives Penn College an 8-5 overall record.

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Freshman Gabrielle George (Monton) had a career high 23 digs as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team swept Penn State Mont Alto 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-16) in conference play Tuesday. The win is the fifth straight as the Wildcats improve to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. Also for the team, senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) led with 10 kills.

The Wildcats swept easily with 25-7, 25-7, 25-8 victories outscoring their opponents 75-22, their largest margin of victory this year. Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) led with nine kills as the team improves to 5-3 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology opened up conference play perfectly defeating Penn State DuBois and Penn State Hazleton in a tri-match. The Wildcats didn’t drop a set all day winning 3-0 in both matches. Sophomore Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) was strong at the net notching nine blocks in the two games. The Wildcats now improve to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) racked up 19 kills and 25 digs as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team split a doubleheader Wednesday night. The Wildcats lost a tough 3-1 match to Mount Aloysius College before bouncing back to a 3-0 win against Valley Forge Christian College. The split keeps Penn College just shy of the .500 mark with a 2-3 overall record.

Scores against Baptist Bible were 5-25, 24-26, 25-15 and 18-25, and against Lycoming were 25-27, 17-25 and 21-25. Against Lycoming, Tara Powell, of Burgettstown, had two aces, seven kills and 13 digs; Melissa Lake, of Winburne, had seven kills and Caitlyn Curley, of Middletown, had 12 assists.

Sophomores Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) and Melissa Lake (Winburne) led with eight kills each while sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) stepped into the setter position for the first time this year and notched 12 assists.
