Fall 2012 Golf: PSUAC/USCAA Championships - University Park

Jesse Newman earned a spot on the PSUAC All-Conference Team
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - With 19 teams and over 100 golfers in attendance, the Pennsylvania College of Technology golf team competed at the Penn State University Athletic Conference/United States Collegiate Athletic Association Championships at the Penn State University Blue Course in State College. After two days of intense competition, the team took second in the PSUAC and eighth in the USCAA. Freshman Jesse Newman (Waterfall) was the top finisher for Penn College placing 37th shooting an 84 both days. Daemon College was the top team in the USCAA with a total team score of 605 while Penn State Mont Alto was the victor for the PSUAC with a 649 (sixth for USCAA).
Sophomore Corey Teeple (Lake Ariel) bounced back from a 91 on day one to shoot a 79, good enough for 45th. Both Newman and Teeple were top finishers in the PSUAC earning spots on the all-conference squad.
Rounding out Penn College was freshman Bryce Petersheim (Birdsboro) at 49th (82/89), junior Alex Howe (Lake Ariel) at 58th (84/90), sophomore Nicolas Krupka (Allentown) at 62nd (89/87) and freshman Brian MacPherson (Salem, N.H.) at 82nd (97/90).
At the tournament, the USCAA announced the All-Academic Team award winners of which MacPherson was a recipient. To earn the award , the golfers had to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
In the PSUAC, the Wildcats finished out the regular season in first place taking the regular season title.
