Keeper Reda Vaermilya had nine saves in the loss

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Despite nine saves from freshman keeper Reda Vermilya (Turbotville), the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s soccer team lost 1-0 to Rosemont College Wednesday. The Ravens’ goal came late in the game in the 77th minute. The loss drops Penn College to 1-1 overall.

The first half was tight with neither team getting off many shots. Penn College totaled seven to the Ravens’ five. It was the same out of the break until Courtney Whelan made the most of a foul outside of the box sending in a strong kick to the opposite side of the goal.

The Wildcats dominated play after ripping off multiple shots, but could not find the net ending the game in Rosemont’s favor. In the half, the Wildcat’s totaled 13 shots to Rosemont’s six.

Shots on goal were a big factor in the game as Penn College had only seven of their 18 on.

Next up, the Wildcats travel to Cedar Crest College for a 1 p.m. match.
