Gingrich now leads the PSUAC in batting average, home runs and RBI
MEDIA, Pa. - Senior Skylar Gingrich (Lititz) went an impressive 6-8 (.750) with three home runs and nine RBI to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball team in its split with Penn State Brandywine Tuesday. Needing only one win to clinch the #2 seed in the Penn State University Athletic Conference Championships, the Wildcats won game one 6-0. They then fell 10-5 in game two closing out the regular season 23-10 overall and 14-4 in the PSUAC.
In the opener, senior Harrison Myers (Lebanon), sophomore Josh Longsderff (Columbia) and freshman Zachary Buterbaugh (Conestoga) combined for a one hit shutout. Gingrich had two home runs in the game with four RBI. Also, senior Thomas Hughes (Easton) went 2-3 in the game.
Gingrich stayed hot in game two with five RBI and a three run shot. Sophomore Philip Carnevale (Carteret, N.J.) recorded the loss going 3 2/3 innings giving up nine runs.
Penn College will travel to Pullman Park in Butler on Thursday, Apr. 26 for its opening game of the championships at 1:30 p.m. against #3 Penn State Greater Allegheny.
