Spring 2012 Archery: U.S. Indoor/East Regional - Harrisonburg, Va.
March 9, 2012

Ashlee Mull placed sixth in the women's recurve competition
HARRISONBURG, Va.– The Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team dominated team competition and added an individual title at the U.S. Indoor Championships-East Region at James Madison University. The Wildcats took seven of the nine team competitions and freshman Nicole Lapinski (Bloomsburg) took first in the individual women's compound competition. "I'm happy with how everyone shot," said head coach Brian Parker. "We've got a long season to go, but if we keep shooting like this, we should be a strong contendor at nationals."
Penn College won the team competitions for men's recurve, compound and bow hunter and women's bowhunter. The team also took first in the mixed recurve and compound shoots.
Individually, the Wildcats had nine top three place finishers. In women's bowhunter, freshman Brianna Batykefer (Butler) took second and freshman Kendel Baier (Jersery Shore) was third while on the men's side sophomore Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) took second and Joseph Dowdrick (Lebanon) third. In men's compound freshmen Andrew Everett (New Market, Md.) and Justus Leimbach (Westminster, Md.) were second and third, respectively. Finally, senior Glen Thomas (Mercer) placed second and sophomore Brandon Allison (Roaring Spring) was third in men's recurve.
Freshman Rebecca Boyer (Palmerton) was 11th in the women's compound competition and had an impressive Robin Hood (split an arrow) in her second round.
Next up, Penn College travels back to James Madison for the Adam Wheatcroft Memorial Invitation on Mar. 24.
