Freshman Braden Conner scored a goal and had two assists in the win
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Braden Conner (Reading) scored a goal and notched two assists to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s soccer team defeat Penn State Mont Alto 8-0. The win is the second straight in conference for the Wildcats that improve to 5-3-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. Sophomore Mitch Pequignot (Trout Run) added two goals and an assist in the win.
It took a bit for Penn College to get going with the game scoreless until Pequignot scored in the 24th off a pass from sophomore Tristan Smith (Southampton, Bermuda). Freshman Matteo Frazzoni (Southampton, Bermuda) scored in the 41st from Conner to take the team into the half up 2-0.
The offense came alive out of the break scoring three consecutive goals in the 50th, 51st and 52nd minutes. Sophomore Cody Sollenberger (Lancaster) scored first from Conner followed by sophomore Ethan Dunkle (Harrisburg) from Pequignot and then senior Patrick Kehoe (Oley) from freshman Jacob Tuck (Hollsopple).
Pequignot kept things going in the 62nd from sophomore Chris Brennan (New Hope) followed by Conner’s goal in the 66th from Tuck. Freshman Blayne Allen (Trumbull, Conn.) finished out the game in the 85th from freshman Jose Gomez (Kennett Square).
Freshman Aaron Volz (West Chester) recorded three saves while sophomore David Munn (Athens) had one in the shutout.
As a team, the Wildcats outshot Mont Alto 41-4 and had four corners.
Next up, Penn College will travel to Susquehanna University on Wednesday, Oct. 5 for a 4:30 game.
