The loss is the fifth straight for the Lady Wildcats

SELINSGROVE, Pa. –Junior Casey Braun (Hughesville) scored 20 points as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball lost 68-36 to Penn State Altoona in the consolation game at the Pepsi-Weis Markets Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Susquehanna University. Braun averaged 16.5 points in the two-day tournament earning her a place on the all-tournament team.

Penn College (0-5) allowed a 7-0 run from the Lions in the opening half before Braun hit a layup to put her team on the board. Altoona built up a 21 point lead and went into the break up 38-17. Same story different half as Altoona scored 30 points in the second and ended the game with the 32 point lead.

The Wildcats shot .233 (14-16) from the field and totaled 33 rebounds for the game. Braun led the team with right rebounds while junior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) added five steals and four assists.

Next up, the Penn College travels to Alfred University on Tuesday, Nov. 22 for a 5 p.m. game.
