The Wildcats led for over half of the game but could not hold off Scranton
SCRANTON, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology men's basketball team led throughout the first half of the game but fell 67-46 to Penn State Scranton Wednesday night. The Wildcats went into the second half up 31-29 but lost their offense allowing for Scranton to just edge them out. Freshman Scott Fenton (Dickson City) led the team with 17 points while freshman Colton Acorn (Wellsboro) had 16 and led with seven rebounds.
In the second half, the Wildcats were up 40-32 at the 16 minute mark. Scranton stepped up the defense allowing only six more points from the Wildcats for the remainder of the match.
Penn College (1-15, 1-6 PSUAC) shot 36 percent for the game and out-rebounded the Lions 46-42. Offensively in the first half the team shot an impressive 50 percent.
Next up, the Wildcats host Penn State Wilkes Barre on Saturday, Jan. 21 for a 3 p.m. game.
