Freshman Chris Morrison won both his singles and doubles matches
YORK, Pa. - The Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team defeated Penn State York 8-1 on a windy Saturday afternoon. The win improves the team to 5-2 overall and in the Penn State Univesity Athletic Conference. The Wildcats swept doubles action and dropped only one match in men's singles.
Penn College came into the match with a 3-0 lead since York was forced to forfeit women's flights. In men's singles action, freshman Chris Morrison (Hershey) took second singles 6-3, 6-3 and sophomore Caleb Wise (Manheim) followed suit winning third flight 6-3, 6-2. Freshman Eric Isherwood (Pocomoke, Md.) battled in his fourth flight match and won in three sets 6-2, 3-6, 10-4.
Freshman Adam Smith (Duncannon) had a tough match but was edged out in first singles 4-6, 6-3, 2-10.
In doubles action, Smith and Wise partnered at the first flight and won 10-5 while Morrison and sophomore Adam Groff (Washington Boro) won second doubles 10-2.
Penn College next hosts Penn State Mont Alto on Monday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m.
