Freshman Nathan Scott is undefeated in both singles and doubles so far this season
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. –The Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team won its third straight match with a 6-3 win over Penn State Hazleton Wednesday. The Wildcats took all men’s singles and doubles events on the afternoon. The win improves the team to 4-1 overall and in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
In doubles action, freshmen Nathan Scott (Canton, Conn.) and Adam Smith (Duncannon) won first flight 6-4, 6-4. The duo remains undefeated on the season. Sophomore Adam Groff (Washington Boro) and freshman Christopher Morrison (Hershey) teamed up to take second flight 6-0, 6-3.
In singles, Scott won men’s first flight 6-0, 6-3 while Smith dropped only one game in his second flight match 6-1, 6-0. Morrison took his first set in third flight easily at 6-1 but just edged out his opponent 6-4 in the second. Rounding out the winners was sophomore Caleb Wise (Manheim) who won his fourth flight match 6-0, 6-0.
The match is the second meeting of the team with Penn College the 5-4 victor back on Sept. 14.
Next up, the Wildcats host conference leader Penn State Brandywine on Saturday, Oct. 8 at noon.
