Freshman Kelly Hebert had a season and career high 7 blocks against York
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) had a season and career high seven blocks in the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team 3-0 win against Penn State York. The Wildcats totaled 10 blocks as a team in the dominant performance. Penn College improves to 17-8 overall and 13-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
Penn College breezed through set one with a 25-4 win. The Wildcats had 12 kills in the set with junior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) earning six points on her serve. Set two had an early battle with seven different ties. Penn College eventually pulled away 25-16. York went on a 5-1 run in the third before the Wildcats settled and came back to win 25-11.
Powell finished the game leading the team in digs with seven and kills with six.
Also for Penn College, senior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) had 17 assists while sophomore Paula Karine Monteiro (Rio de Janeiro) led the team with four aces.
The Wildcats will next travel to Penn State Wilkes Barre in a tri match with Penn State Scranton on Sunday, Oct. 16 starting at noon.
