Freshman Melissa Lake led the Wildcats with 14 kills

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Melissa Lake (Winburne) notched 14 kills to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Lackawanna College. The win is the fifth straight for the Wildcats that find themselves 13-7 overall. Senior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) added 24 kills in the victory.

Penn College breezed through all three sets winning 25-11, 25-17 and 25-16 despite having the Falcons take early leads in all three sets. The Wildcats totaled 33 kills and 24 digs.

Also for Penn College, sophomore Lindsay Moyer (Canton) had seven kills. Freshman Kasey Smith (New Park) led the team with nine digs.

The event also marked Alumni Day with an alumni match following the game. Though the alumni played tough, the Wildcats were victorious 3-0.

Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Hazleton for a quad match with Penn State Fayette and Penn State Greater Allegheny on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m.
