Penn College remains perfect in the PSUAC at 9-0
YORK, Pa. - Sophomore Lindsay Moyer (Canton) racked up 17 kills to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team go 2-0 against Penn State Mont Alto and York Sunday. Junior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) added 15 kills to the mix that saw the Wildcats stay a perfect 9-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.
Penn College (12-7, 9-0 PSUAC) took on host York in the first game of the day and won 3-0. Freshman Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led the team with 13 kills while sophomore Rachel Heller (Allison Park) had a team high eight digs. As a team, the Wildcats compiled 30 kills and 29 digs.
Against Mont Alto, Penn College avenged its 2010 3-2 loss taking the Lions 3-1. The team dropped the first set 25-20 before sweeping the next three 25-20, 25-22 and 25-18. Moyer led the team with 14 kills while Powell had 10 and notched 14 digs. Senior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) had 34 assists and a season high 14 digs. Freshman Kasey Smith (New Park) led the team with 18 digs.
As a team, the Wildcats had a season high 45 kills and 77 digs.
Next up, Penn College hosts Lackawanna College on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
