Fall 2011 Women's Volleyball: Pink Out Elmira College

Sophomore Lindsay Moyer led the Wildcats with seven kills
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Lindsay Moyer had seven kills and three blocks but the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s volleyball team lost 3-1 to Elmira College Thursday night. The Wildcats took the first set 25-23 but were swept in the next three 25-16, 25-13, 25-13. The loss drops the team to 8-7 overall.
In set one, it was a back and forth battle with Penn College’s biggest lead at 15-11. The Eagles pushed it to 24-23 before the Wildcats took the point for the win.
Set two was another battle with Penn College taking an early lead at 6-4. Things evened at 14 all before Elmira took it 25-16. The Wildcats lost their steam in the next two sets as Elmira cruised to victory.
Also for Penn College, senior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) had 21 assists and two kills. Freshman Kasey Smith (New Park) was impressive defensively with 11 digs. As a team, the Wildcats racked up 25 kills and 38 digs.
Next up, Penn College will travel to Penn State Brandywine for a quad match with Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday, Oct. 1 at noon.
