Freshman Kelly Hebert had a season high 11 blocks in the two games

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Junior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) notched 14 kills and 12 digs as the Pennsylvania College of Technology went 1-1 at a tri-match hosted by Penn State Harrisburg Saturday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to Mt. Aloysius College before sweeping the host 3-0. Freshman Kelly Hebert (Wellsboro) had a strong day with 11 blocks while senior Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) had the touch with 41 assists.

Against Mt. Aloysius, Penn College (2-5) played three tight sets but fell 25-17, 25-23, and 25-18. Powell had 7 kills and five digs while Hebert added 7 kills and four blocks. Smith put up 22 assists in the game.

Things went the Wildcats’ way against PSU Harrisburg as they cruised to a 25-21, 25-23 and 25-20 win. Sophomore Lindsay Moyer (Canton) had five kills and 7 digs and Hebert was a wall at the net with 7 blocks.

Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State Scranton on Wednesday, Sept. 7 for a 7 p.m. match.
