Penn College won its ninth consecutive league title
UNIONTOWN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s cross country team won its ninth consecutive Penn State University Athletic Conference Championship Saturday. Junior Travis Cain (Bloomsburg) finished second in a time of 31:40 and senior Corvin Oberholtzer (Wellsboro) placed fourth in 31:55 to medal in the five mile race. The win is also the fourth consecutive top place finish this year.
The Wildcats placed seven total in the top 20. Freshman Dan Rose (Albrightsville) had his best finish of the year in sixth in a time of 32:14. Freshman Dan Flynn (Blairstown, N.J.) was 10th with a time of 33:30, freshman Dan Starr (Stewartstown) was 12th running a 33:58 and junior William Fuka (Clifton, Va.) was 15th at 34:18.
Also for Penn College, sophomore Edward Knyff (Ocean Gate, N.J.) was 17th with a 34:27, junior Robert Forbes (Warren) ran a 36:58 to place 24th, senior Seth Beckman (Linden) was 25th with a time of 37:15, junior Joseph Chadowski (Fairfax, Va.) was 35th with a 38:55 and Wade Tyrpin (Jonestown) rounded out the finishers in 49th with a 43:32.
The Wildcats will next travel to Lake Placid, N.Y. for the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Championships on Nov. 10.
