The Wildcats placed five runners in the top 20
WILKES BARRE, Pa. – With five runners in the top 20, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s cross country team won the Penn State Wilkes Barre Invitational Saturday. Junior Travis Cain (Bloomsburg) led the Wildcats placing third with a time of 28:30 in the 5.1 mile race. The nine team field had 97 runners total with Valley Forge and Thaddeus Stevens rounding out the top three teams respectively.
Senior Corvin Oberholzter (Wellsboro) was eighth with a time of 29:24 and freshman Daniel Flynn (Blairstown, N.J.) ran a 30:20 placing him 16th. Senior Seth Beckman (Linden) and freshman Daniel Starr rounded out the top 20 finishers placing 19th (30:25) and 20th (30:20) respectively.
Also for the Wildcats, sophomore Ed Knyff (Ocean Gate, N.J.) placed 22nd (30:47), junior William Fuka (Clifton, Va.) was 23rd (30:57), junior Robert Forbes (Warren) was 26th (31:13) and freshman Daniel Rose (Albrightsville) was 28th (31:34).
Penn College will next travel to Penn State Mont Alto for a conference invitational on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m.
