Fall 2011 Women's Soccer: Elmira College (JV)

The win is the first for the Wildcats this season
ELMIRA, N.Y. - Freshman Valeria Passalacqua (McAllisterville) scored the game winner in double overtime to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team win 4-3 against Elmira College JV. The win is the first on the season for the Wildcats. Passalacqua's goal came in the 104th minute and was her second of the game. Junior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) added two goals and an assist.
Penn College (1-5-2) was down 2-0 in the first half after Elmira scored back-to-back goals in the 20th and 23rd. Passalaqua cut the deficit in the 35th off a pass from Steer. Steer then equalized in the 40th.
Out of the break, it was the Eagles again striking in the 75th. With just two minutes left in the game, Steer scored to send it into overtime where the Wildcats took it.
As a team, Penn College had 26 shots and three corners. Freshman keeper Stephanie Koleno (Moshannon) had five saves on the night.
Next up, the Wildcats travel to Valley Forge Christian College for a 2:30 p.m game on Thursday, Oct. 13.
