WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Stephanie Koleno (Moshannon) made five saves, but the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s soccer team lost 3-0 to Lycoming College in the second annual Battle for the Lumber. The Lady Wildcats had a couple breakaway opportunities and racked up seven shots but the loss drops them to 0-2-2 overall.

Lycoming (1-3) opened up with a goal in the 18th by Kelly Prendergast. The Wildcats looked to equalize minutes later when freshman Valeria Passalacqua (McAlisterville) broke through the defense but keeper Jennifer Basch made the save.

Coming out of the break up 1-0, the Warriors added to their lead with goals in the 47th and 58th, both by Jussae Handford. Freshman Shelby Straub (South Williamsport) just missed putting one in the back of the net but Basch was there again for the save.

Penn College will next travel to Misericordia University on Tuesday, Sept. 20 for a 7 p.m. match.
