The 1-0 clinches the #2 seed in the PSUAC playoffs
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Chris Brennan (New Hope) scored the overtime goal to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology to a 1-0 win over Penn State New Kensington. The win clinches the #2 seed in the Penn State University Athletic Conference playoffs. Penn College will face Penn State Brandywine on Wednesday, Oct. 26 for the semifinals.
Brennan’s goal came in the 98th when he took a deflection from the keeper and dodged him to the right to tap it in goal. The overtime win is the third this season which includes Alfred University and playoff #1 seed Penn State York.
The Wildcats dominated possession for most of regulation outshooting New Kensington 22-5. Freshman keeper Aaron Volz (West Chester) recorded two saves in the shutout.
Penn College (10-5-2, 7-1-1 PSUAC) threatened in the second half when sophomore Tristan Smith (Southampton, Bermuda) sent a laser that hit off of the Lions’ keeper to the crossbar.
The Wildcats will next travel to Marywood University for a non-conference game to wrap up the regular season. The 4 p.m. game will be on Saturday, Oct. 22.
