Fall 2011 Men's Soccer: Centenary College/Holiday Inn Classic York College (NY)

William DeAngelo scored the game winner in the opening match of the Centenary College Holiday Inn Classic
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s soccer team defeated York College (N.Y.) 3-1 in its opening game of the Centenary College Holiday Inn Classic Saturday. Senior William DeAngelo (Dallas), and sophomores Chris Brennan (New Hope) and Godwin Omo-Ekpadi (Norristown) each scored in the win as the Wildcats improve to 2-0-1 overall.
Penn College opened up the scoring in the first half when DeAngelo crossed a ball in the 14th that deflected off a defender. York equalized in the 31st and the teams went into the half tied.
Omo-Ekpadi scored the go-head off a cross from freshman Sterling Weikel (Dewart) in the 63rd. Brenna clinched the win in the 87th with a strong shot to the left-side of the net.
As a team, the Wildcats had 30 shots to York’s 12. Freshman goalkeeper Aaron Volz (West Chester) had four saves to notch the win.
Penn College will face Lebanon Valley College in a 1 p.m. match Sunday, Sept. 11. Lebanon Valley defeated tournament host Centenary College in a 3-2 overtime victory in its opening round.
